TL:DR - batteries exploded. No AC adapter included (didn't get it with the unit, does have the manual, though). For parts or for a project. Nice cover/base, buttons move, rotating LED arm is free and moving. These things are COOL - and pretty pricey. I eagerly snagged this a couple months ago and am just getting around to listing it. They had the manual taped across the bottom, blocking the battery compartment (which also has one of those microscopic screws!)...they had also evidently needed to meet their tape quota that day, too. It was taped completely around - top to bottom. (Now I'm just griping - but I did manage to get that crap off of there after an epic struggle, and it looks fine.) Anyhow - once I got the battery compartment lid off, I was greeted by three AAA batteries that had exploded and fuzzed up the compartment. Generally when that happens, the item is toast...and not having the correct AC adaptor to test it, I figured it wasn't such a great buy after all.
Instead of relegating it to the "Pile From Where Nothing Returns" I figured I'd just go ahead and list it.
I think it would make a cool project - as a display for an Arduino or Raspberry Pi project maybe? Please keep in mind that I have NO idea if it ever worked or will work again...and I don't take returns. Kind of a crap shoot, I understand - just trying to recoup a bit of my investment at this point. Pictures are of the exact item you will receive.
Thanks for looking!
I’m a part-time reseller in Middle Tennessee that’s easing into making it my full-time gig…along with moving from NE of Nashville to the Chattanooga area in the next few months. Big fun, eh?
I REALLY appreciate your supporting me by buying my junk…err…TREASURES…and hope they bring you a bit of happiness. I try and find cool vintage “survivor” pieces, and I still get a rush of nostalgia when I run across an item that my folks had when I was growing up. I am notoriously CHEAP, and your item will almost certainly arrive in a recycled box with recycled (but ALWAYS CLEAN!) packing materials. I do keep a reasonable standard of appearance, but you won’t mistake them for Amazon boxes.... unless you happen to get a recycled Amazon box, maybe.
If you have a question about any of my listed stuff, drop me a line through the eBay system – I try and keep up with my messages and will get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks!
