    Description

    Welcome!
WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT IT: This Zuni Maiden pin and pendant is a worthy representation of Theresa Waseta's creations. It consists of tiny mosaic inlay work with incisions, drawings on the stones and shells and it's beautiful. She is world famous for this work. You'll find pictures of this pendant in many books. For one, it's in "ZUNI The Art and the People" VOl 3, by the Bells on page 51. Also it is depicted in the Bassman's book called "Zuni Jewelry" on page 58. There are nice raindrops also decorating the skirt. This piece is truly charming and exemplifies some of the finest Zuni inlay work. It's deceptively simple in appearance and requires great skill to create. The work is superb! `separately I'm offering a matching bracelet and ring.
    CONDITION: excellent vintage, wearable, collectible.
    MEASUREMENTS:
    • 1-1/8" X 1/2"
    • bail close to 1/4" internal diameter
    • weight 3.19grams
    • signed Theresa Waseta, Zuni
    • materials natural clean turquoise, coral, jet, mother of pearl, and unmarked which is usual for the metal, but it is sterling silver .925
SUMMARY: This very small work of art has the versatility of being both a pendant and pin and has a perfectly functional pin mechanism. The bail can hold a nice chain, being very close to 1/4" in internal diameter (it looks like 1/4" but there may be very slight variations in the round). This is a famous piece of hers, her design being published in several books and it's charming, would look great on anything and is a so sweet collectible.

Yes, I sometimes can take reasonable offers.
I request payment by PayPal in two days, but planned in advance of purchase, alternate payment methods and time payments can generally be arranged.
I generally ship same day. Domestic: FREE expedited US shipping.
International buyers pay actual shipping cost if I’m shipping myself rather than using eBay’s Global Shipping service, and International buyers are responsible for any customs fees their own countries may apply. Please discuss changing shipping method prior to purchase. My shipping defaults to Express International, which is tracked and insured, but I can use Priority Mail International. It's less expensive and is also tracked. First Class International is no longer offered by the US Postal Service. I charge the actual shipping cost and since shipping to each country costs a different amount, I will charge a little extra and refund the exact difference once I can put your address in and print a shipping label. I am no longer shipping to Italy and China, but can make exceptions if you speak with me about it, especially if you are a prior customer.

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.
