    Description

VINTAGE "KANSAS CITY SOUTHERN LINES" MATCHBOOKS. Pre-Owned  Here are two KCS Railroad Matchbooks- different colors, different makers, same Regional Maps on the Back Covers and both are FULL MATCHBOOKS. While the Illinois Central dropped down from Chicago to New Orleans the KANSAS CITY SOUTHERN RAILROAD dropped down from Kansas City to points in Texas and yes they ran over into Louisiana and went to New Orleans also. Founded in 1887 they have been going strong all these years, but a friend said they were recently taken over by Canadian Pacific. The Red, Yellow, and Black Locomotives have been very distinctive. From 1940 to 1969, the KCS operated two primary passenger trains. One of them being the Southern Belle. Both of these Matchbooks have "No Creasing" on the Saddles. Nice Collectable.
