    Орденская книжка не только подтверждала право ношения награды, в ней были прописаны и весьма ощутимые льготы и привилегии, которые давало орденоносцу государство. Орденская книжка - основной документ, вручаемый награжденному вместе с орденом. До появления орденских книжек награжденному вручалась особая грамота. Первые орденские книжки появились в 1938 году и были едиными для всех пяти орденов СССР, существовавших на тот момент. Орденские книжки второго типа впервые появились в начале 1943 года. Орденские книжки третьего типа появились вскоре после окончания Великой Отечественной войны.
