    Description

This luxury liner was constructed in Scotland in 1930; no expense was spared. Her maiden voyage was in 1936. She had five dining rooms and lounges, two cocktail bars and pools, a grand ballroom, a squash court and even a small hospital. Three years after her maiden voyage she became the grandest ocean liner in the world. She carried Hollywood celebrities like Bob Hope and Clark Gable, royalty like the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and dignitaries like Winston Churchill. She was retired from the sea as an active liner in 1967 and was never more popular as an iconic Southern California attraction as a hotel and venue for special events. It has attracted over 50 million people; and is the home to three world-class restaurants.
