    Description

    Welcome!
Offered... a fabulous, very hard to find set made by the world renowned Hopi great master silversmith, Lewis Lomay Lomayesva aka Lewis Lomay, who was born in Oraibi in 1914 and learned his art from Ambrose Roanhorse and went on to work for Frank Patania in the Thunderbird Shop. From the 1950s through the 1990s his work won many prizes in the Santa Fe market, was collected by some of the finest museums and sold in some of the finest galleries. He is
prominently featured in most of the books.
I am offering an incredible set. One piece is both a pin, a pendant and an enhancer. An enhancer has an open bail so it can be attached to most beads and necklaces! It can be added to a string of turquoise or to Navajo Pearls, silver beads, for example or basically most any strand you have, as long as they aren't graduated. The matching earrings are sterling silver without stones so they could be easily converted by any jeweler to pierced. As they are they are screw back but they
include an extra element which helps them to lie comfortably on the ear, distributing the weight of the screw backs nicely. They have the same design as the pin pendant enhancer but that piece has three lovely natural stone, gorgeous stamp work too, and a shadowbox area with hand applied raindrops and the three oval shaped beautiful natural turquoise stones. The outer edges are scalloped and shipped fabulously and the piece is not flat; but beautifully shaped in a convex fashion. This is a prize winning quality magnificent piece, very much exemplifying the excellent artistry of this master silversmith.
The pin pendant enhancer is a good weight, solid and every aspect is perfection. It measures about 1-15/16" high and 1-13/16" wide and is perfect to be worn as pendant or enhancer as well as of course as a pin, can be attached to most any non graduated necklace from beads to nuggets to chains. It weighs 25.6grams. The matching earrings are about 2.5" high top to bottom and at the widest, at their bottom measure about 7/8". They weigh, one 7.8grams and one, 8.3grams. Each piece is properly signed with Lewis Lomay's snake hallmark and not marked for silver content but guaranteed to be sterling silver. They are each in excellent vintage, wearable and collectible condition. Superb!
This set is a prime example of splendid work by one of the great masters in Hopi Native American jewelry making. It is museum best quality. I recommend it for the best collections. It is elegant.

Yes, I sometimes can take reasonable offers.
I request payment by PayPal in two days, but planned in advance of purchase, alternate payment methods and time payments can generally be arranged.
I generally ship same day. Domestic: FREE expedited US shipping. I’m including insurance on all my shipments till the PO resumes full functionality.
International buyers pay actual shipping cost if I’m shipping myself rather than using eBay’s Global Shipping service, and International buyers are responsible for any customs fees their own countries may apply. Please discuss changing shipping method prior to purchase. My shipping defaults to Express International, which is tracked and insured, but I can use Priority Mail International. It's less expensive and is also tracked. First Class International is no longer offered by the US Postal Service. I charge the actual shipping cost and since shipping to each country costs a different amount, I will charge a little extra and refund the exact difference once I can put your address in and print a shipping label. I am no longer shipping to Italy and China, but can make exceptions if you speak with me about it, especially if you are a prior customer.
Returns will be accepted for 30 days after your receipt for any reason and without question. Please let me know if you would like to return something. Returns must be in the same condition they were shipped. If I make a significant mistake in a listing I'll always give you a full refund. When I include pages from published books in my listings it is in accordance with Fair Use Law, which permits the use of source material for discussion, reference, education and criticism.
Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.
