Description
Here is a dramatic and poignant large colour print titled "Battery L of the R.H..A., One Lone Gun in the Dawn." With men lying around them and the other artillery pieces out of action three men fire their weapon. The print's painter's first name is Dudley but I can't make out the second, which starts with a "T" and is dated '14. The scene is dated Sept. one and it was issued as a supplement in "The War" publication of December 12, 1914. The print is folded and creased and has a tear of a but more than an inch along the fold at the bottom. It is too large to go on my scanner so I have scanned it in two halves. It is roughly 15" x 11". It will be mailed folded along existing folds to save on postage.A sobering but well-done WWI print.
The postage costs on this item are higher than I would like and, after leaving them unchanged for several years, I have raised them slightly in line with the 2021 postage rates.
British buyers please note: This item will cost .40 to post.
As I have some fixed-price items anyone who purchases one of my lots might want to look at them before paying. Additional postage is free for subsequent purchases unless they are too big for my normal very low basic rates. If you are buying more than one item please wait for me to send an invoice so I can combine postage.
When payment for lots won is received by teatime British time (it is usually dished up about 4:30) I normally post the item the next morning. Our village post office is closed on Saturdays, however, so if you pay on Friday the item cannot go out until the following Monday.
