antique Tasco Microscope Set.This 1950s Tasco Microscope was handed down to me about 30 years ago, by the parents of David Silver, an Orlando native who went to Edgewater high school and graduated in 1962, only to be killed in an awful car accident inJune of 1962. I’m supposing that seeing how David was their only son, and that they never had another child, they kept his room intact until well into the 80s, when they finally let go. It’s old, but a few things stand out. There is a wooden box where everything would fit in, and there is a scratch on the front that goes side to side, and on the back, there is some peeling of the wood finish? I would say that 80% of the original slides are still intact, the unit itself seems to function, made of metal, and has two separate eye pieces. There is the aforementioned wear on the wooden box, some of the cardboard boxes that the slides came in have fallen apart, but I have the pieces off to the side in the main photo. Just to say, nothing is made like this anymore. David looked like Buddy Holly, he was my babysitter when I was two, and I still see his face. I wanted someone with an appreciation of the time to take charge of this, maybe to enhance their own old toy, or just for the memories. Thanks for reading all this! Good luck to all.
