    Description

    This is an antique folk art portrait of a horse with a colorful background that is signed by the artist and circa 1880 to 1920s, or so. Portrait is 12" x 16 1/4" and mounted in a thin wood frame with brown paper sealed backboard. It is signed lower right with a rather cryptic "JU" that is made to look like horse hooves. This is probably gouache on paper, and it is in excellent original condition with no damage and no repainting. The horse is very well done in a folk art style, and it has lots of personality.
