    Description

BEAUTIFUL display of five antique bronze table medals by three separate celebrated artists. These are professionally mounted in a table frame on velvet and are ready for display.
Here are the five bronzes from top left:
    1. Hansel and Gretel by Karl Perl ca. 1920
-a beautiful antique bronze medal depicting Hansel & Gretel being beckoned by the witch with of course the old lady having very grotesque pronounced features and the children angelic faces. The medal is signed by the Austrian Karl Perl (1876-1965)
who did a series of fairy tale medals all of the same high quality. It measures 55mm (just over 2") by 43mm (1.75").
    2. Smoking Boy by Karl Perl c
    a. 1920
    Approximate size 66mm x 35mm or 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches
    3. Rondo by Stefan (or Stephan) Schwartz ca. 1910
RONDO"Here is a other fantastic signed turn-of-the-century relief bronze sculpture by Austrian artist and sculptor Stefan (or Stephan) Schwartz (1851-1924) titled 'Rondo', This wonderful bronze shows children or possibly putti playing and frolicking around a small sapling tree. The actual bronze measures 80mm square (3 1/8"). It is signed 'Rondo St. Schwartz' in upper right hand corner. Stefan Schwartz was born in Nyitra (now Nitra) Slovakia on August 20, 1851 and he died in Raabs, Austria, on July 31, 1924. He was an Austrian sculptor and medallist.
    4. Girl by Rudolf Neuberger ca. 1910
    Size 66mm by 53mm or 2.6" x 2.1"
    5. Der Kleine Daumling (The Little Thumbling) by Karl Perl ca. 1920
    Another Grimm's fairy tale depiction, measuring 75mm x 55mm (2.95" by 2.15")
All of these are in GREAT shape and mounted beautifully producing a collection that will take pride of place in your home. The professional framing was done in the 40s, and the framer left a vent hole for air flow. There is some slight discoloration on the velvet as pictured.
