This is a nice, original Workers on Trial! Life Stories of the 28 Defendants Now on Trial by the United States Government in Minneapolis. This was the Smith Act trial, where the U.S. Government charged the defendants with conspiracy. Eventually the number would be 29. On December 8, 1941, 18 Trotskyists were sentenced to prison terms for advocating the overthrow of the US government. Six of the 18 were released after six months, and the remaining 12 were released after serving one year.
