    Description

Here is a truly unique item 1923 deck plan for The Empress of France this plan is for the Canadian Pacific 1923 cruise around the world, one of 4 ships to circumnavigate the globe in 1923. The plan shows all the decks rates and ship information. Originally named SS Alastian, this ship had a storied history even serving in WWI as an armored merchant vessel fitted with guns and joined the 10th cruiser squadron maintaining the blockade of Germany and later serving as the flagship for Rear-Admiral Sir Dudley de Chair. after the war she was renamed The Empress of France in 1919 becoming the flagged ship for Canadian Pacific Ocean Services. In 1931 she took her last voyage and was scrapped in 1934, interesting not to the scrapping some of the interior timbers were used in the extension (completed in 1937) of St John's The Baptist Catholic Church in Padiham Lancashire.
Measurements or in the pictures, the paper is thin and there are some rips from where it has folded over the years, it will be shipped folded as it is now, but it will be placed in an acid free bag with double cardboard on either side to prevent further damage.
