Description
This is a nice, original printing of The Boys in White; the Experience of A Hospital Agent by Julia Wheelock Freeman. From September 1862 to July 1865, she was a nurse, working with the Michigan Soldiers Relief Association to aid soldiers. She briefly spent time back in Michigan as a result of contracting typhoid fever, during which she raised funds for her work. In 1870, she published a collection of memoirs titled The Boys in White. Printed by Lange and Hillman, New York (1870). First Edition.Measures 5.5" x 7.5" and contains 274 pages.
Ex-Library. Previously possessed by the Northwestern Medical School, has plate inside cover and organizational marks on spine. Spine has splitting and sunned.There is some rubbing wear and discoloration to edges and surfaces of covers. Interior pages good, some minimal discoloration, text sharp and clean.
