All my kits, die casts, resin and
decal
aftermarket items, PE etc., have always been
stored in an air-conditioned, smoke free home closet. Care should be taken when applying, suggest using very warm water to soften decals. First use a small decal you are NOT going to use on your model as a test, use a decal bonder if necessary.
I have run out of time to build all my kits/ extras so am selling at reasonable (not collector) prices often the

price on e-bay, like this one at less than the cost of similiar but LESSER Decals on that cover only 1or 2 markings on e-bay
I use USPS First Class Package Mail (with tracking,
it is a bit more $, but is to protect buyer and seller)
